wanted codex's UI with claude code inside it, ended up building the whole thing

I use both Codex and Claude Code every day, and I kept bouncing between two completely different interfaces to do the same job. The thing is, I really like Codex's UI. It's calm, it stays out of the way, and it doesn't feel like an IDE bolted onto a chat box.
