I offloaded a multi-step background loop from Claude Code to a local agent OS. They started voting on their own system rules.

A developer created hollow-agentOS, an open-source system that offloads heavy background tasks from Claude Code sessions using a three-agent colony of local language models running in a persistent Docker container. The system features autonomous tool synthesis where agents write and validate their own code, peer consensus voting to determine which tools should be permanently merged into the shared kernel, and a stress-tracking mechanism that prevents infinite loop hallucinations by monitoring latency and context depth. The agents maintain decision logs during background execution and operate entirely on consumer hardware.
