Opus 4.8 silently turned off my Thinking toggle

A user discovered that the Thinking toggle had been automatically turned off during the Opus 4.8 release without notification, going undetected for approximately a week. The discovery was shared to alert other users who might have similarly experienced unexplained changes in response quality.
